Great list! Might I also recommend: Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder (Joanne Fluke), Murder on the Rocks (Karen MacInerney), Thyme of Death (Susan Wittig Albert) and Catering to Nobody (Diane Mott Davidson). Those are also great places to start!!

I would recommend Leslie Meier's series about mother and journalist Lucy Stone (books are based around holidays like Christmas Cookie Murder, Turkey Day Murder), the Tea Shop Series by Laura Childs, The Gray Whale Inn series (same as mentioned by reader below) and The Dewberry Farm series, both by Karen MacInerney, the Maine Clambake series by Barbara Ross, and the Farmer's Daughter series by Peg Cochran.

My mom loves the Sofie Kelley, Erika Chase (she was so sad there weren't more in the series), and the Ali Brandon books. I haven't read them yet. I will have to.
