I just realized I never made a joke about Artemis being "arrow-ace" and I feel the need to apologize.

I counted, he has 92 total kids. Could Zeus just keep his toga on FOR FIVE SECONDS?

I wonder if Zeus had 'even' more kids, but they were lost to time over the centuries and nobody bothered to try and bring back their existences to the myths

Zeus " I love all my children equally."
Earlier that day:
Zeus "I don't care for Aries."

I honestly really like the interpretation of Artemis and Orion just being really close platonic friends as you historically, and even today, don’t see too many close male female relationships that aren’t romantic nor sexual in fiction.

"He crashed into her bedroom with a chariot, surrounded by lightning and also chucked a literal spear made of lightning at her. She died of fright." No, bestie. I think she got vaporized. You know, from having lightning thrown at her by a deity.

Edit: this is in reference to the quote by Pseudo-Apollodorus, himself. I'm aware Jake added in that she was vaporized.

Edit 2: Also, we know how Zeus "courted" Hera. And it wasn't like that. He had to trick her into marrying him, after he forced himself on her. He turned into a cuckoo and pretended to need help. She took him in her arms, he turned back and...yeah. She married him to avoid the shame of having lost her virginity out of marriage. It was a big deal, in Classical Greece and she was the goddess of marriage, after all.

How about you do a video on how Zeus took away the animals' ability to talk?

I've always been partial to the theory that every greek city state would want their founder/hero king to have divine right to rule, and having their backstory involve Zeus being their father works better for that. After all, being the son of Hephaistos is cool, but doesn't make you uniquely qualified to be king (though you will probably have less hubris, tragedy, and murder in your life compared to the average Zeus offspring).

Since we’re on the subject of Zeus’ kids, the Theogony states that the nine Muses were children to Zeus and Mnemosyne, a video on them or including them in a part two would be pretty neat.

A thing I would be especially interested in in a follow-up about this is the fact that the judges of the dead in the Underworld are all also sons of Zeus. Even in his own domain, Hades has to deal with his brother's shenanigans.

Yay Hebe is mentioned! She’s so underrated and barely mentioned in any legends! Glad she’s mentioned here (as a footnote for Heracles, but still)

Fun fact: Zeus has 99 children. Hera is the mother of 4 of them. 52 are gods while 47 are demi-gods.

Angelos, Arges, Eleutheria, and Enyo are Hera's lesser known daughters. Sometimes Eris is said to be Zeus and Hera's daughter but more likely Nyx's daughters. But yeah overall Hera's kids are lesser known than the bastards especially since they are girls and wouldn't be able to inherit and both sons she produce are kind of inadequate in Zeus' eyes.

I love Artemis's constantly tensed fingers on the bowstring.

Just a note: the quote says that Apollo flipped the lyre upside down and played it, not the flute. And it was in fact because Marsyas couldn't play the flute in reverse that he lost.
