Murphy: Technical Analysis of Futures Market

The one book on pure technic analysis I would recommend is Technical Analysis of The Financial Markets by John J Murphy. Covers just about everything in technical analysis, is hardback and 576 pages thick and about £40-£50. If you decide to get it be careful because it is easily confused with the study guide version which is cheaper and thinner

That gives you an overview of different approaches to technical analysis. Choose one of these approaches and work at it both for trade discovery and risk control. Remember that trading is different from reading a book. At the end of the day trade discovery is one thing, but other elements like risk management are also important.
