This would be a much better solution than adding _even more lanes_ to the already ridiculous amount there is already on GA highways.

A billion is pennies. Let’s do this now instead of waiting for costs to explode in the future.

The fact that the federal budget NATIONWIDE for transit is so low shows you how underfunded it is.

Unfortunately, this is a pipe dream. That woman is right. This should have been the original plan in the 60's and 70's before Cobb, Gwinnett, and Clayton had the chance to vote it down and when it would have been relatively cheap.

Please let it be real. Don’t let it fail like the IND second system

Marta technically goes to Clayton county because the airport is in Clayton county.

They should expand to ALL suburbs. From Covington to Villa Rica/ Douglasville/ Cartersville to Hampton/ Newnan to Dacula/

The expansion wouldn't have cost so much if they had done it when they should have a long time ago. In 1990, Atlanta had 45 miles of rail transit and Denver and Dallas/FW both had 0 miles each. Today, Atlanta has 51 miles while Denver has 113 and Dallas/FW has 175.

Expand Marta Transportation and do something about homelessness

"Making it a reality could cost billions" ... I can assure you it'll definitely cost billions, if not 100s of billions. Would be much more economical to roll out a more robust commuter coach bus network. It would be cheaper per passenger, as well as financially less risky, because you are variabilizing your capital costs and can end bus leases/sell off busses as needed (whereas with passenger rail lines, that is a 100% sunk cost)

All of could have been funded and built at the 1970s cost now would cost 100 billions plus at today's cost. I see that the new added suburban counties taxpayers pay for the new MARTA expansion.

Who's going to pay for all this expansion? It's not free, and the areas it'll serve are impovershed, and can't pay for it.

MARTA rail lines should do what NYC Subway is doing and have different lines be operated by separate companies

“The Project Going Nowhere”

Actually, a few days ago the mayor announced that MARTA would be expanding with four new stations.

MARTA stopped working when they brought in the trains… the busses worked

This is stupid and insane! Definitely not going to solve the real issue of traffic! Come up with a better resolution to eleviate traffic! Marta rideshare has been down forever so why not fix that first. Then stop the homeless people from trashing and pissing everywhere

Marta needs to expand outside Atlanta
