THE MYSTERY OF THE WORSHIP OF YAHWEH BEFORE ISRAEL

The Shasu were a group of Semitic peoples who, at a certain point, entered ancient Egypt. They inhabited regions like Sinai, the Levant, and Saudi Arabia. The Egyptians confronted them several times, but what stands out about the Shasu is that they were the biblical peoples, such as the Edomites, Kenites, and Midianites, who believed in Yahweh, the God of Abraham. Watch the video to learn more about this worship of the God of Abraham that existed before the formation of Israel.

Anyone who has read Genesis knows that people worshipped YHWH before the nation of Israel existed.

It makes sense like Noah and his ancestors served the same God

I like the narrators' smooth voice. II Timothy 2:15. All people were created by God; some remember, some don"t.

Certainly there were people who worship the god of Israel before there was in Israel and that is Adam and Eve

Why did the narrator explain Jethro the priest of Midian without mentioning that he worshiped the same God as Abraham because he’s a descendent of Abraham. Midian is the first born son of Abraham‘s third wife, Cora, who he had six sons with after Sarah died.

Not strange that there was a knowledge of God before Abraham. At the tower of Babel, the Nation's were divided, the language's confounded. This is the reason every culture has a flood account.

Abraham brought a tithe to Salem and presented it to Melchizedek, the priest of God Most High (Genesis 14:17-20).

The mission of Melchizedek was also to teach the people in the world about the true God YHWH.

Not many talk about this but it is true. The Scripture calls Jethro “a priest of the Most High.” The idea that the entire human race was pagan between the time of Noah and Moses is ludicrous.

Fascinating biblical history I am learning something every day even at my age.

Of course there were peoples who worshiped YHWH before Israel because He is the Creator.
He has manifested Himself to some people since the creation of the world.

It is the esteem of Elohim to hide a matter, And the esteem of sovereigns to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2 Don't be afraid to seek Him. Religion will tell you not to.

As a Palestinian I always wondered who exactly my ancestors were from a historical/biblical perspective and this fills in a lot of blanks. My genetic profile says I’m a blend of Southern/Northern Levantine(74%), Mesopotamian(17%) and Jewish(9%). The Shasu are most likely who my ancestors are/were as I heard mention of Megiddo which my genetic profile was found at in some ancient bones. Very cool, Thanks for sharing!

Israel became Israel as a people when God determined it was time to begin narrowing the path through which Jesus, the Messiah, would come.

God never lacked a witness there was never a day in history of mankind, that a man didn’t worship Him

I was thinking of watching this in full when it occurred to me that there's potential for being misled. So I concluded that what's best is to work with what God has told us, which is that Abraham was the best man that God found at the relevant time, and that is why God chose Abraham to be the foundation of the family that shall have no end. Abraham's chosen son is Isaac, and Isaac's chosen son is Jacob. Ain't no more to it. In the end, either people have joined to become Israelites correctly or they have an end.

With thanks.

At the time of Abraham, Melchizedek was listed as a priest of God. He was also king of Salem, an early name of Jerusalem, so there is a connection between God and Jerusalem that predates David by quite a bit.
