This is a guide to pinning and gluing a book matched set of knife handle scales on a full tang knife. The wood used is a buckeye burlwood with resin and the blade is 1095 high carbon steel. If you have any questions feel free to comment below.

Very nice. I wish I saw this before I put new scales on old kitchen knifes. They came out nice but a little difficult due to my technique not as good. I liked your approach to drilling the scales. Thank you sir.

One more additional step that I do is to mask off the front ends of the scales with painters tape. When you're working with wood it will keep the epoxy from soaking into the scales so that area takes stain and finish just like the rest of the scales.

More tape on the blade near the scales eliminates the need to clean the glue off the blade.
