Maybe an idea
Could do cement blocks around it and attach a hose for draining like I did. Or do a small dugout for them and add rocks or pavers around to keep it contained
Not so much mud
The horses will also enjoy drinking from them
At least the ones we board here in summer loved the kid pool

You could buy a pond insert or similar and dig it into the ground. Line the area around it with a water friendly thing like gravel etc that wont be all muddy and vola emu bath!

Get a kiddy pool until you figure it out.
Doesn't have to be very deep
Easy to empty.
Just a couple buckets of water added freshly each morning until the hot weather passes

Dig a hole that's not too deep but plenty big enough around. Line it with concrete that works for pools. Have a drain in it. Fill and let them enjoy 😊

Ima survivor/Longhorn Lesters have sprinkler pole that spins attached to there fence n there ostrich love running in n out or sitting underneath it so it sprinkles on them… They also sometimes spray the hose pipe on there alpaca’s for a short while each day n the female ostrich will sometimes come nr to them to b sprayed down too…

U could also dig a shallow pond (not as in a pond pond tho) n line it wit pond liner to try n prevent it from becoming too muddy (u could add a thin layer of small gravel or rocks over the pond liner to prevent it from moving) but Tbch I think it will still get a lil muddy no matter what u do to try n prevent it from doing so

We have a famous Australian called Ernie Dingo so I think that's a great name for an Emu, they do like their watering holes as we call them here

Giant bird bath? Wonder if you could make a low on the ground mini pool with cement. Possibly pretty big or just about a horse and a half long. Maybe look up how pools are made but make this slightly in the ground dip but a few inches above and have a drain with a pipe going under it just to drain it quick or so it doesn't freeze over in the winter so they dont slip and hurt themselves or you could cover it. Would want to think about frost and ground moving that could crack it (or just the weight of the animals flopping (may want a thin layer of Gravel or sand or pebbles to be cushioned and maybe take 1-2inch smooth pebbles to stamp the full bottom to make it textured but kind of smooth) may want Gravel under it before pouring cement but I'm not sure if that will help or not.

Hi Y’all, Why not get a blue kiddie pool and put it in the hole. It would be deep enough but not get as muddy and not too deep to hurt legs of them or the horses! Just an idea!
