This is one of the most honest reviews I've ever watched, thanks Brian. Your tell-it-how-it-is attitude is both refreshing and entertaining!

Thanks for the honest review. I was looking at getting a used Citizen as my first folding bike but your video made me reconsider. I'm now looking at a new Zizzo Urbano instead for light commuting.

Thanks for the video. I can’t ride due to a knee injury so watching your videos and other bike videos have helped me cope and keep motivated. 👍🏽

Thanks for the candid and brutality honest review. It caused me to go and check the Citizen website before I finished watching your video. The very last thing any rider wants is a bike where their own safety is at risk and in the back of their mind when biking. Compare that state of affairs with the Brompton where basically, getting on the bike, brings a smile to your face based on the easy, comfortable and high performing nature of the Brompton riding experience. Keep up this great bike riding and review platform of yours!

In the first few seconds of your vid I noticed the cables bowed out for snagability and you can't touch it without it falling over... you summed it up for me in under 15 seconds.. thanks for the test piloting for us

The werewolf is back. The go to site for honest Folder reviews. Really like the Zizzo Liberte but we don't seem able to get them in Europe. Thanks Brian.

Fantastic review Brian. You definitely struggled to find some good points about the Citizen. Very fair and professional of you to not slam the company itself. Going forward, please continue on the checklist of sorts, brakes, drive, wheels etc. on your reviews and then summarizing as you did for your 3 D.P.C's (durability, performance and convenience). I found that part most enjoyable.

Thanks for another great video Brian. Even though the citizen was sub par , it was fun and very interesting to watch. I enjoyed it very much.

Oh no, I purchased my electric citizen bike yesterday. This review really scared me. I'm 5.2 so I hope I can be more stable on it. After I receive it I will check the return policy

*What do you think about the Kespor K7 folder? It costs $400-$500 and I just bought one used on offerup for $180. The one I bought has already been upgraded to shimano hydraulic disc brakes, 58T chainring, quick release pedals and shimano deore XT RD so I feel like I got a bargain for $180. This bike feels solid and I maintain 20 MPH on flats on this bike, only problem it had when I first got it and started riding was the stem would squeak when pedaling. I removed the stem and greased everything with synthetic marine grease and I haven't had a problem since. This Kespor K7 is another cheap chinese folder, however it's built pretty well for a $400 folder.*

Same style of frame as my newly bought Hilberiazel, without the cut-outs. I hope it's stiffer than this Citizen. The H. is a steel frame so I'm guessing it is. I'll find out next week. Wanted a folder for years, so this cheap bike I bought will be fun to build up and tinker with to get it in shape for a nice get around. Have you sold this bike yet? Doesn't seem like you want it.

So what is a folding bike you do recommend?

it's the sort of bike where you come out of the store and find the local bike thieves have stolen your lock and left the bike 😂
Great video - it really makes you appreciate why spending a lot of money on something like a Brompton is WORTH IT. Folded or unfolded, they are SOLID.

I was given a folder that was dodgy like that....I left it unlocked for someone to steal 😂

I just received this bike from a friend. Everything seems fine but the neck/handle bar which you mentioned is spring loaded. Anyways it's slightly loose no matter how I clamp it. There's only so much you can turn to tighten it. I'm think of call up Citizen and maybe they can give me a new neck clamp

That’s for the review. I was going purchased an used version of this.

This was my first folding bike. The handlebar does go between the wheels. Even then it was a struggle to keep it folded. The only way it stayed folded was by placing inside the bike bag. I don't remember the ride as being bad but I am in touring mode when riding.

I would like to see you review a different model from Citizen bikes than the Gotham series. They have three Gotham models, and I would not buy those, as they all use the same frane. Thanks for this video too, on that model. Their other bikes get good reviews it seems. Maybe review the Miami or the Seoul. The Miami has a steel frame, the Seoul an aluminum frame. Both are multi geared bikes with 20" wheels, priced from $389 to $539 for the aluminum model. But, since I'm an old retired dude on a fixed income, I am thinking if getting one of the Dizzy folders, especially after watching some of your videos. I'm trying to save up for a stinking root canal right now, but, after that, maybe a Zizzo! I have a bad right knee and am a cancer survivor too, and that disease could come back, so I don't want to spend too much on myself. I'm riding an old single speed flat bar road bike every day on a timed route with plenty of hills. I am hoping it may help my knee and get me back some of the strength and energy I lost during two years of cancer treatment. I'd like something with some gears, and a folder would be handy. Keep up the good work.
