I spent 20 days building a gothic fantasy city

I wanted to build a huge gothic-inspired fantasy city - with built in lights and fog machines - inspired by Mistborn!

I saw the Thumbnail and instantly thought of Luthadel. It is so good. I personally imagined Kredik Shaw to look more like a sort of black sea urchin. 😅

Love it ! If get a couple of natural stones, saves wasting aluminium foil, for texturing XPS ? Railway ballast ( granite) rock of choice, although something to look out for on happy wanderings, don't go on or near Railway !

I've gotta learn how to do this... I've been doing toy photography/figure customization for years now, and the main thing I'm still lacking is unique set locations- I tend to just reuse the same cliff-face piece for just about everything, and I've got multiple projects that I've wanted to do for ages, but need more than that to work.

The editing of the build montages is awesome. Nice use of the music to cut to it👍 And the ending shots are so realistic i love it. Simply a masterpiece from the building itself to the filming to the editing.

Looks amazing as always! I know it would have taken too long, but I'd love to see this fully kitted out with miniatures everywhere all through the streets. Can you imagine, like backstreet scenes, cats in alleyways, assassins perched on a tower roof etc? Ah well, maybe when you're bored you'll keep adding to it :D

On your beautiful projects with the back lit cut glass windows, it would take it to a whole new level if the windows had colored glass. Maybe you could pre-print a plastic film with the computer as a background for the windows, which you could reuse for other projects, and just change up the colors as needed.

Martina I have the exact same problems, I go way too extra with everything, I planned to redecorate my sons bedroom over a weekend, that was 14 days ago, and I’m still going 😭
Absolutely love your city though, it’s incredible, I’d love to do something similar but our too small house is filled to the rafters with my other hundred or so hobbies and my sons ridiculously huge Lego collection (not to mention the hubbys trainer collection - 200+ pairs 🙄) so I shall live that hobby vicariously through you and your wonderful videos ❤

Some studios should collaborate with you to use your great works for their movies (insted of green screen with 3D post production) to make them look a waaay more realistic than the artificial pictures we're all fed up with! Amazing job guys!!!!
