I loved playing with Sound Recorder when I was a kid! It helped spark my interest in audio production, and I eventually moved on to an actual DAW. I recorded my first songs in Sound Recorder though. Check out the full video on my page to learn the "hacks" we used back then to create a multi-track song with Sound Recorder!

I loved trying to talk in reverse and seeing if I got it right

One of your videos was recommended to me yesterday. I watched it and really enjoyed it so I checked out the rest of your channel. Your content is totally my cup of tea! I think you have the potential to get lots of subs as your content itself is great and shamelessly nerdy and the production value is really high (which is a bit ironic to say as you create much of your content using old, outdated software and hardware).

Favorite game was saying swear words in reverse with my friends, and then reversing it to "normal" and cracking up

Me and my sister would do this back in the day - we thought we were the only ones 😅

OMG I spent a ton of time with this, with one of those silly desktop microphones that had a huge base and a long stem.

Me and my friend would make really "chipmunks" skits, but the trick was to talk really slow so it we'd be rolling when we sped it up. XD

I even tried to make "music" by stitching together a bunch of freesounds tracks...which basically just created a bunch of discordant noise.

I MAY have also used it to record songs from AOL radio that sounded neat. Nevermind the washing machine going in the background o.O.

This tiny utility had no place being so much fun. lol

Yes. Fun memories. And, "Canyon.mid" was my jam for a bit.

That's two points for my childhood, Sound Recorder and UHF. Spatula City, we sell spatulas, and that's all!

You are the loveliest thing on YouTube.

God I would have started recording music so much sooner if this had multitracks

Anybody else remember the secret song "Clouds.mid" hidden as an Easter egg in Windows 95, that's the song of my childhood right there.

Yeah, I always used to practice saying things in reverse on this thing and flipping it.

For me I think what inspired it was Home Alone 2. I always wanted a TalkBoy, and this was the closest thing I had.

I extracted voice lines from Worms 2 and Baldur's Gate etc. and edited them together 😂

I used it to record music from tape to the computer as I did not have any proper software for that back then. Hated the 60sec limitation and had to record silence multiple times at the end of the file so I got enough length to fit the track from the tape

How did I miss such a cool ass program!? And I call myself an enthusiast. To be fair, I was too busy with Windows media player's bg effects.

That’s how I checked all my music for secret satanic messages in the early 1990s 😂😂😂

Oh yeah. That's how me and my friends created the worst songs ever recorded. It was a blast!

Yes, i use to make fart noises in it. Said a bunch of jebberish but never did anything truly productive with it.
