Sg Bunus ROL-POP2 Montage 2015

The River of Life Public Outreach Programme Phase 2 - Sg Bunus (ROL-POP2) is an initiative under the River Cleaning Component of the River of Life (ROL) Project in Greater Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

The River of Life (ROL) is an Entry Point Project 5 (EPP 5) identified in the Greater Kuala Lumpur/ Klang Valley National Key Economic Area (NKEA) under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP).

ROL aims to transform Sg Klang and Sg Gombak into a vibrant and liveable waterfront with high economic value.

Between the years 2013 - 2015, ROL-POP2 was implemented under the auspices of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia (JPS) to generate evidential improvement in attitudes and behaviours of the communities living within the Bunus River (Sungai or Sg) Basin towards river care and preservation in order to improve water quality and reduce pollution within the Bunus Basin.

Thanks to Local Agenda 21 KL (LA21KL) under the auspices of DBKL, like-minded and caring community groups have come together to care for and protect Sg Bunus from further degradation.
