Did you know in the 2005 Fantastic Four…

Michael Chiklis was the only one of the main actors that was already familiar with the Fantastic Four comic book series. He fought to be a “real” Thing instead of a CGI Thing since he had been a devout fan of the character ever since his childhood. He ended up wearing 60 pounds of latex that took three hours to put on, and they made the suit with a removable rock section in the head. They would then spray cold air into the suit from there.

The Thing in those 2 movies aged really well. If it were CGI, that wouldn’t be so accurate.

Those movies were actually a major part of my childhood and honestly the suit still holds up really well

Then when filming the climax, it was the middle of winter and the other cast members claimed to be freezing while Chiklis was fully comfortable in his Thing suit

Watching him was such a fulfilling moment of comic book accuracy. And not just on looks. The voice and personality. He deserves our admiration and respect for being true to the comics.
