The chief admits it was a problem but handed out one citation? Shut them down till they are in full compliance! That's your job. He should be charged and definitely be fired

the smell of burning plastic is no joke. I use to work in a factory and the smoke from purging of the injecting molds would make me walk away until it cleared, it stunk bad! Every machine had warning labels warning of inhaling the fumes but yet the employers never spoke of the dangers

I live in this town and honestly this was not taken care of properly. And our Mayor is terrible.

Funny how all of these things always happen in the right places.

Didn't management of this company learn anything in boy scouts? You don't throw rubber boots into the campfire. It's basic.

Regulations are not much good without the money to enforce them. This is a nationwide problem.

Never ever allow one of these things to be built in your area. If they're there already, get them closed. Recycling plastic isn't worth the risk.

"The fire is feeding on unknown types of plastics." Well, that's a relief. At least the fire may be feeding on healthy plastics and not the unhealthy types.

That definitely is a threat for atmosphere, environmental safety. Will EPA give that area a quick evaluation of air/water quality on the daily basis. So the citizens will know when is likely to be safe.
