East coast is more humid overall than west coast. And people are friendly down south and more direct up north. North is four seasons south warm most of the year.

I just moved to Michigan from Nevada and it feels like I’m in a entirely new country with the way everything looks, people act, the food, costs, weather, I noticed a lot more people walk or take transportation out here, where in Nevada you’re almost looked down on for it from my experience.

IDK about thunderstorm, but I do think the constant sunshine can get very monotonous. Rain can be nice.

Lived for 16 years on the West Coast (and still visit my mom there from time to time) and now over a year on the East Coast. Here's where my preferences stand:

- Climate: West Coast
- Directness: East Coast
- Work/business culture: West Coast
- Fashion/dress: West Coast
- Food: East Coast
- Transportation: East Coast

Suit and tie vs casual, on time vs CA when you get there time. Crazy prices and maniac traffic jams—tie.
East coast=people you can count on. West coast=lots of flakes and temporary relationships, but great weatherwise.

West Coast just has California, Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon and Washington.

East Coast has Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, The Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.

I’ll take East Coast. More variety ❤️❤️❤️

I stopped in at a great seafood restaurant on the water in Philly once. Had to ask the hostess to repeat herself at least 5 times as I could not break the code of her Philly accent.

As a New Yorker living in Cali, I totally agree with all of this! Yes, I miss thunder too! And snow surprisingly…I also prefer the directness of East coasters. People are so “nice” here and to me it comes off as fake and my candid nature comes off as rude. San Diego is gorgeous but it’s definitely an adjustment when you’re coming from the East coast. It’s a trade off. I do feel myself becoming “soft” and shivering when it’s 50 degrees out. I love both coasts and I think you captured the charm of each very well. Thanks for the video!

I am watching this video while the temp is 102 degrees with the humidity here on the east coast. I think there is something with the weather (blizzards, hurricanes, humidity) on the east coast that makes you tougher. In addition, the change of seasons makes you more durable and flexible. Also, the holidays (Thanksgiving, Xmas, Halloween) are more charming on the east coast...think a quaint New England village during those holidays and there is nothing like a New England fall, almost spiritual in nature. On the west coast, the geology is quite fascinating, with fault lines and the volcanoes such as Mt. St. Helens, the large national parks and forests on the west coast are captivating. I liked this video. It was more of an adult perspective which is educational.

The West has much more dramatic landscapes and infinitely more unique national parks than anywhere on the east coast. I'm from Washington state. We've got Olympic NP, Mt. Rainier NP, and North Cascades! West coast all the way!

I don't know about you but here on the east coast, the DMV area, I see a lot of casual clothing. It's really only when you go inside certain businesses and the employees that work there is when you see formal or uniform clothing.

I've spent time in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Massachusetts. I was born and raised in Alaska. Climate, Sports and Demographics are a huge difference. The East Coast has more people from Italy, Ireland, England, Cape Verde, Ghana, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. The West Coast has more people from Spain, Norway, Sweden, Germany, México, El Salvador, Samoa, Tonga, Hawai'i, Guam, the Philippines, China, Vietnam, Laos, Somalia, and Sudan. Most of the Spanish people on the West Coast are from Aragón, Navarra, País Vasco or La Rioja. The West Coast has a larger Indigenous community which influences the culture in Alaska and Washington. In terms of Sports, the West Coast cares more about American football, soccer, track and field and weightlifting while the East Coast cares more about baseball and basketball. In terms of food, the West Coast has better fish and the East coast has better pizza. The West Coast also has better Spanish food than the East Coast, especially better pintxos and better bacalao al pil pil and better anguilas bilbaínas. We also make better tortilla de patatas than the East Coast. The West Coast has a Maritime climate in Washington, Oregon and Southeast Alaska and a Subarctic climate in Southcentral Alaska and an Arctic Climate up North and the East Coast has a Humid Summer Continental Climate. Also anyone who thinks that the West Coast is soft is historically ignorant. The West Coast is just tough in a different way, just ask Ryan Crouser or Ashton Eaton.

Everything that he saying is 100% correct. I lived on the East Coast my whole life and when I visited San Diego for the first time I fell in love. after that I visited San Diego three years straight. If the cost-of-living wasn’t so high I would definitely live in San Diego.

I dont get the "tough" guy attitude on the East coast. It doesn't mean anything when your here... Its not intimidating but rather funny to me. Tough comes from hard physical work like a logging.. Thats tough. The west coast is pretty easy going for the most part and hell of alot of fun if you love the outdoors.

Gotta LOVE philly soft pretzels! But I'd give them up to move to San Diego some day. I'm sick of the weather here. Never thought of it, but you're TOTALLY right about the jobs! I can't go anywhere without being asked what i do for a living. And being slightly judged at times. And almost everyone either works in accounting, law or healthcare.

The fact that nothing nice can be said about the actual people on the west coast is very telling. Everyone can only say how nice the weather is on the west coast. East coast, everyone talks about how genuine and friendly the people are.
