As a white south african ( born after apartheid mind you) I hold no love for the old flag. However being pissed at the corruption, mismanagement, constant blackouts exc is perfectly reasonable. Those people who tried to defend the old flag chose a strange way to express otherwise reasonable frustration

I live in south africa. Apartheid was bad, but don’t act as if people do not have a point when they complain about ‘what the country has become’. We do not have working traffic lights, sometimes only have 4 hours of power a day, a useless police force and a sadistic health care. Please come spend a few months in Johannesburg before disregarding criticisms made of the country.

I am South African, I don't like that flag, I also don't like a song called "kill the Boer"(white farmer). The song was deemed freedom of speech while the flag was not. It's seems a bit wrong.

Don't make a conclusion of something you do not understant. It does not represent hate or racial supremacy. The flag represents history of the boer war.
