Apple iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max review

With faster screens, superb performance and long-lasting batteries, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are excellent phones. If you’re on a device older than the 12 Pros, you should consider upgrading just for the new ProMotion displays. Though the cameras also got a noteworthy improvement, I’m not sure they’re going to be the biggest draw. It’s honestly hard to spot the difference in quality between photos taken by Apple’s recent flagships.

Features like Cinematic Mode, Photographic Styles and macro cameras are nice to have, but won’t define your iPhone 13 Pro experience. And though Apple was playing catch up to Android flagships by finally introducing 120Hz screens to its phones, there are now fewer things that Samsung and Google offer that the iPhones don’t. For basically anyone who doesn’t mind iOS, the iPhone 13 Pro (and Pro Max, if you don’t mind its weight) is a worthy upgrade.

Thank you for seeing the value of High Refresh Rate. I saw some "Tech YouTubers" like "Why 120Hz? I rarely play games on my phone". Completely missed the point. 120Hz is mostly felt when just scrolling, browsing, zooming and doing the everyday stuff.

Just upgrade to a 13 pro from a 8 plus and I absolutely love it. The pro is just a tiny bit smaller but the screen size is equivalent to the 8 plus. I’ll try it out for a few weeks and will get the max if I need it

GENUINE POV: I bought the iPhone XS Max the day it came out 3 years ago and it STILL takes the same quality photos as the new iPhone 13 Pro Max. I tried it at Apple store last Friday here in SF. Apple is good at sprinkling new features onto their camera but at its core most of us stick to XS Max for a reason. The inky colors and clarity is no different than the new iPhone on a normal photo. But Apple needs to make money so marketing is their best friend. PLUS I still get all day battery life (this is my primary computer), it even has zero scratches on my case-less phone and WEIRDLY enough in direct sunlight side by side my 625 nits of brightness screen was brighter than the 1000 / 1200 nits of brightness screen on the new iPhone. Even an apple employee thought that was strange. Perhaps it’s the type of screen? The new iPhone is definitely worth getting if you have an iPhone 8 or less. But just wait until there’s no notch, a usb-c and wide angle in the front camera.

Watching on my 13 Pro Max I just finished setting up. Came from the 13 Pro Max. Pro motion display was long overdue. Looks amazing. Also I’m shocked Apple didn’t put emphasis on how much better the speakers sound this year…. They definitely had to do something to upgrade them.
