Pasek & Paul (Dear Evan Hansen/Greatest Showman/La La Land) - ASCAP Experience: Home Edition 2020

One of Pasek & Paul’s most consistent champions over the years is revered producer Marc Platt. Platt has steered major successes on Broadway (Wicked, The Band’s Visit, War Paint), the silver screen (Legally Blonde, Bridge of Spies, Mary Poppins Returns, Into the Woods), and television (Grease Live, Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert). Platt has collaborated with Pasek & Paul on La La Land, Aladdin, A Christmas Story Live and the forthcoming film adaptations of Dear Evan Hansen and Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In this discussion, this trio of collaborators will explain the unique challenges and joys of bringing a musical vision to film and TV. They’ll explain how and why they made the transition, and what it takes - creatively, emotionally and otherwise - to juggle such a diverse workload. We’ll also get insights into some of their upcoming projects.
