Pure magic. Such a simple melody, yet it conveys more than a whole symphony does.

La gestuelle des virtuoses est tout simplement...fascinante.

Brendel, inégalable, magnifique, meilleur expression de la mélodie hongroise.

Alfred looks like a nutty professor here, the sound is horrible, but what a brilliant performance - he is the best

I recall this Brendel performance was part of a PBS documentary about the anniversary of Steinway pianos, and featured a dozen or so concert pianists including Murray Paria, Brendel andd others. I think it was hosted by Van Cliburn. Is that correct? Anybody know where the whole documentary might be available?

If you don't want a shot of vodka after this then you are deaf.

Brendel is good, but I' dream of Franz Liszt playing this piece on an 1840 Erard!

fantastic - Brendel so gifted - horrible sounding recording, please replace with something that's not a travesty to two great artists.

Oh, It is written "forte" but that does not mean it should be aggresive, angry.
