The Ludvig (Jēkabs Ludvigs Kalmanis) plašu atpazīstamību ieguva 2017. gadā, kļūstot par jaunāko konkursa “Supernova” dalībnieku un ar dziesmu “I'm in Love with You” ierindojoties otrajā vietā. Viņš ir izdevis vairākas atzinību guvušas dziesmas, sadarbojies ar grupu “Triānas parks”, Raimondu Paulu, Rūtu Dūdumu un citiem māksliniekiem, kā arī aktīvi darbojas kā producents un dīdžejs.

It's really commendable that The Ludvig and his team took viewers' feedback and came back with an improved performance. You can really see how much work they put into this, and they should be really proud. Also happy to see that Ludvig got to dance; he said in an interview he loves dancing!

The glow up from the semifinal to this was huge! I really appreciate all the hard work that went into improving the performance so much in such a short amount of time, and I'm grateful that the constructive criticism was taken to heart. I'm absolutely shocked that this got fourth place, especially seeing those early televote percentages. I think this had a ton of potential for Eurovision, so I'm not sure what the jury was thinking. Y'all did great though and I'll definitely keep listening!

Ligo deserved to win and the Ludvig deserved to take it to Eurovision for Latvia. The Ludvig had the best song - views and likes show this and it blended quite well the two different elements. The Ludvig also listened to harsh criticism from multiple platforms. With the package he had, the Ludvig could have worked the song to become a top five entry for Latvia. Now idk how they’re going to do. Because this entry unlike Ligo has very little melody - so it’s a lot less accessible to the casual audience. The Ludvig! If you’re reading this: please come back next year!

This song was the real winner! Performance in the final was excellent! Everything was thought through and on point! Even the jump from the hill, the costumes, bare feet and short motive of latvian traditional dance....etc

This performance was incredible. He saw all the comments and improved every single thing, thats a real artist. The song is a bop, the vocals were incredible and the staging was perfect. Im shocked that this only came fourth?! Latvia you made a massive mistake here. Very robbed and underrated.
