The left one is a inside crescent kick while the right one is a correct tornado kick.

The hip position and usage of the feet (toes to rotate correctly) were also correct in the right one.
The left one was also not uplifting the kicking leg's hip above the non kicking leg's hip.

Few different problems on the X.
First problem I see is lack of commitment and not engaging the hips in the twist, second problem I see is your leg should be sideways and your toes should be pointed not relaxed.

Simple. The first one didn't look at his target before he kicked. The second one did.

The 1st one is that it was under rotated so theres not much speed and it could give the opponent an oppotunity to dodge

The mistake on the right is turning your body to far after the kick is done exposing your back on the left you aren’t turning your hip over to kick thru foot follows the knee!

If this were used in actual combat, the VERY FIRST problem is that you are not looking at your opponent... or your opponent is already on the ground...

Its simply just that left doesnt do a full rotation furing the kick, resulting in a weaker, awkward kick
