Lifesaver, As an old mechanic without FoMoCo diagnostic software access, this was fantastic.

I have a 2019 Escape 2.0 EcoBoost and I am having the hardest time finding the correct valve/harness for this model. Would be happy to purchase through your link if I could.😉 Thanks.

2020 Ford Escape here. Just over 3 years old; 34500 miles approximately. Evaporative purge valve went bad causing rough starts, rough driving, & the RPMs to go up and down while at a stop sign or red light. Why is this happening in such a “young” car?!!!

Thank you for the video! What did we do before YouTube? Removing the purge valve was much harder than replacing it. The valve I purchased off of Amazon had different clips. The dash light has stayed off since I reset it post-installation, so I think we're set. Thanks again.

Can you show me where the solenoid is to replace rather than the whole harness? I have a 2017 escape with 2.0

Love that Ford Racing steering wheel cover🤣. Reminds me of when my brother had an old Feista, he had a similar wheel cover on his.

I have a 2017 Ford Escape with a p1450. Fuel tank pressure drops to 0 when i unplug the purge valve. With the engine running, using a Launch bidirectional scan tool, if i close the purge valve the fuel tank pressure will read around -.118 and when i open the purge valve fuel tank pressure drops to around -.140

Is it possible for the purge valve to seal up when unplugged but possibly hang open when it's commanded closed by the ecm?

This testing is all done at idle. Its having the typical hard start after fueling up. And she has had the vehicle stall on her, jerking(which i am assuming is misfire) and she describes what sounds like fuel filler neck farting.

Any input? Can i confidently replace the purge valve?

What tools are needed to do this repair? My check engine light came on and the code was p0496 evap purge valve solenoid but the part in the video is the part the dealer said I needed. Thanks

I’ve replaced this part going on the 3rd time, it lasts for about 3-4 months any thoughts? Just getting the p1450 code and struggling to start after fill up.

Hey, thanks a lot for this video! I have similar problem with my Ford Escape 2018 1.5 Ecoboost. My error code is different: P04F0 (Evaporative Emission System System High Load Purge Line A Performance). I also noticed problem while refueling gas - gas pump is bouncing / turn off. Do you think replacement will solve my issue? Any other advice what to check first? Thanks!

The evap system should be covered under the 8/80 federal emissions warranty, right?
