'Ndonda' by Kadori (and Zack Moon)

Показать описание
This is a little video I wanted to make showcasing the song "Ndonda" played by Kadori, which is actually the oldest track of madhebhe/matepe/hera music at the International Library of African Music. It was recorded by Hugh Tracey in Mutoko district in what is now ZImbabwe in 1933. It is obtainable from the archive using reference numbers: TP4095-A (analytical) and TP4094-B (Kadori with his brother Karinungu)
I had the great privilege of being able to play this song on a very instrument built by Kadori (one of his spare instruments purchased by Hugh Tracey in 1933) on a recent trip to the ILAM in May 2017.
Hope you enjoy!
