I actually decided to buy these, even though I was 100% done with gaming headsets, and I've had a great pair of Beyerdynamic dt770 Pro 80ohm for so many years now (probably 6 years or so), with different mics.. boom-arm + mic setup, modmic on the side etc. etc.

However... every reviewer says that the sound in these are AMAZING and the Mic is clearly one of the very best in any headset what so ever... definitely too expensive, especially since I'm not going to use it for anything other than PC... but, the sound, mic and wireless that all works so great, made me pull the trigger.

I ah e both a PS5 and XBOX Series X. I sold my Turtle Beach: Stealth Pro and bought the Astro: A50X for its features. Thankfully the A50X is also a much more comfortable headset. I like the A50X, the HDMI switch function is poorly designed. They also only output 40 gbps. My Startech HDMI switcher does 48 gbps and allows me to still use CEC on both consoles. Hopefully the gen 2 version of the A50X (perhaps A60X) will have better functionality. I don’t regret my Porsche at all, just wish they delivered a better experience. And yes, they sound significantly better than the Stealth Pros.

Loved my Astro A50s 4th gen for years but I recently switched to the Turtle Beach Stealth Pros and I love them. Much better sound quality and features but the Astros were a bit more comfortable. Threw some Wicked Cushions on my Stealth Pros and they are amazing now. Great review!

Just bought the headset, huge fan of these because it’s so convenient to switch to Xbox Series X to PS5 while all being connected to my phone. Definitely agree about the extremely niche connection thing. Especially since my consoles and PC are not in the same spot. I was debating on the G Pro X2 but ended up keeping my old HyperX cloud alpha for consoles and bought AKG K371 headphones and a Deity VO 7U mic. Gotta love sales.

Hi yeah i just got my a50x headphones working on my PS5 i didnt know you had to plug in the power outlet in the wall where it said s pc im going to try some nba 2k 24 basketball thank you so far ther the most comfy headphones ive tried. thank you anyway happy holidays stay safe and happy gaming to all

Appreciate all the information on the A50x. One thing I noticed is that during the noise gate test you talked the entire time so the noise gate never got the chance to activate, so that feature wasn’t properly tested. Otherwise great video.

Completely agree with ur take on the maxwells. The dialogue of characters sounds too airy, and just unnatural. Guess I’ll have to try these out.

for those who know ...the astro update for the old amps to work with USB sound on series x/s and PS5 made the sound worse ....if yo take that same amp and use it on an older console with optical it sounds worse .... an HDMI pass through basically gave u back the OG sond your mic had...that was the fix ..
Astro is basically doing that same thing and everyone is thinking they are getting real good sound but they are actually getting the sound we had before on ps4 and xb1 lmfao

This headset is worth the purchase. There’s only one feature that I like on here. Is you able to lower your teammate voice down in a game this is plus for me.

Most sincere review to date. Purchasing is not worth purchasing at all if you do not have all of the three devices, despite the fact that many more reviews in the future will attempt to defend this headset's value for anybody other than someone who wants to use it for those three devices simultaneously. Simply put do not buy this headset if you don't want to use it for Xbox, PS5 and PC at the same time.
