I remember my own cold game in high school many years ago. It was the only game where my back was really sore. It ended up being my first ever double-double game with rebounds, which is a tough thing to do in itself as a guy under 5'5" surrounded by former rebounding champs on both teams.
I even did my chemistry exam a year later with a flu, and my kitchen expedition exam a few year later with a cold. Since that time, I just saved up and get flu jabs every year.

Too bad it doesn't help with gastric flu that I was having last week, though 8(

I think it'd be interesting to see your take on some PBR injuries. Of course there are tons, including tragedies like Lane Frost, but I'd like to listen to your opinion on the Chase Outlaw wreck from Cheyenne in 2018 and what his surgical procedure afterwards may have entailed. They say he got 68 screws and 11 metal plates in his face after that one. Now those would be some cool graphics!

Even if it was the flu, I think it's crazy that we glorify players playing through sickness. If you're sick, you owe it to your teammates to get some rest as well as reduce the probability of others getting sick. Put some trust in your teammates that they can win without you.

The only thing you didn’t mention was the amount of fever in the two. My experience is that with a cold the body temperature may be slightly elevated to let us say 101, but with the flu the body temperature may be considerably higher in the range of 103 or more, and accompanied by shaking chills. This fever fact is a differential point often.

That tough-guy mentality is really annoying. Nobody plays a game of basketball with the real flu. AD just had a cold, so did Jordan (or maybe food-poisoning in his case).
Glad you set this straight.

The team was seen at a Mexican restaurant the night before. Maybe he had the Margarita flu? 🤔

Doc! I have a question. Several years ago i went out to party in a club. I felt good the whole night (i dont drink alcohol) the only thing i drank that night was water and a redbull. When i came home at 4 in the morning i went to bed and all of a sudden began shaking like cazy..i had the shivers..dont know if that is the correct english term. It lasted for about 3 hours..i couldnt even get out of bed or talk normally because i was shaking like crazy. In the morning i felt better pretty quick and after i ate something i was feeling normal again. Its weird that it came so quickly and went away quickly as well. Could it be that someone put something in my rebull?. Or maybe i ate something bad the day before? ..i dont think so because i didnt have to puke and my stomach felt normal as well. Just was shivering like crazy for a few hours. Maybe lack of sleep?. Its a mysterie to me til this day. Would appreciate your opinion...

Just use hot water, fresh lemon, raw honey, tumeric, pepper, ginger, and minced garlic. Drink and it is gone. Did it when I suddenly got a cold two days before I had to take a flight.
