Installing a Nuvo H20 Filter and Saltless Water Softener

Nuvo H20 is a good company and good brand, I highly recommend. The install is a bit complicated but it would be complicated for all brands.

When heating your fittings to solder, wipe off the flux before you apply the solder, that stop the snots

Looks clean! You know what I was thinking, you should have put in a valve to flush the filters instead of having to use a Faucet to relieve the pressure or to flush. Bad ass broham👍

those canisters might get stuck when trying to replace the filters (the black plastic wrenches typically break) - use a heat gun on low to blow all around the top threads for about five minutes and they will unscrew easily

The only way I find to not get boogers is to not overflux and be really fast with with the solder swipes bu vertical joints just be that way clean install as always dude.

@davidbrinkmeyer5850 Did you not see the water pressure when he was testing the bypass, more than enough water flow. Probably could have used a water REG.

use a lead pencil to draw a line around the ftg, they say it will prevent the solder from dripping, I never tried it...I was a B-tank (acetylene ) and presto regulator and tip solderer? BITD of 50 / 50 solder, a real "ARTISAN"...I still use 50 / 50 in places where I need to keep the temp lower (TECH TIP)

Use a 45 & an ell next time to make a turn. Promotes better flow than two 90s. Solder your
fittings upside down before the final downward soldering. Gravity is your friend when
soldering + your joints will look MUCH more professional. Overall a good job. Kudos.

Use as little flux as possible for the cleanest joints!

Would it be possible to install that inside anywhere? Also do those units have their own mains?

Nuvos do not give true soft water. I wish they did but folks are so much better off to buy a little softener from Home Depot. And yes, I know this is California. Water Softeners are a bad thing there…
