Sega Saturn Reproductions

I talk a little about the kind of reproductions available for the Saturn, including my feelings on owning them, and a few I recently got my hands on. This isn't a video about how to burn Saturn games, nor is it a video showing how to play back ups.

MegaBoxReproductions can be found at:

They have provided me a code for a discount! Be sure to use it.

To enter the giveaway, just leave a message in the comments which one you want. It's that simple. Be sure to remember that you need a method to play back ups in order to enjoy them.

I am not compensated in any way by Mega Box Reproductions. I recommend them because they do good work that I have seen first hand.

Most of the music in this episode is from the game that is being shown at that time. The only exception is the PS1 segment, where the music is from Alone in the Dark.

How amazing it would be if Sega themselves started reprinting these games? With retro collecting becoming more and more trendy / expensive, I feel like they’d make a good buck on making new copies of games from past consoles. Look how well Nintendo does repackaging the same classics, over and over again .

That custom Christmas Nights creation from Dave @SegaSaturnShiro is stunning!

Can you one day do a special on POINT & CLICK games on the Saturn? (Discworld I&II, Blazing Dragons, Myst, Riven, Policenauts, Frankenstein, Dark Seed I&II, Jewels of the Oracle maybe (or is that more a puzzle game?), Mansion of Hidden Souls, Return to Zork and probably some more I forgot and you do know...) Another idea: a special on Saturn RTS/SIMULATION games (Command & Conquer, WarCraft II, Z, Theme Park, SimCity 2000, The Tower/SimTower, once more you know probably a lot more than I do...)

Reproductions of unreleased games is the absolute best I definitely agree there, especially as someone who really feels the need to play on original hardware. I never knew there was the option to get them in this nice quality for the Saturn though, definitely something I'll be looking into later.
I'll have to aim to that Policenauts repro, thanks for doing this!

Would love it if Sega (or anyone else really) started reprinting games for legacy systems. I have loads of self-made "backups" and printed NTSC-J inserts -- would happily buy the original games if they were still available for say $40, but can't really pay $300+ for disks that might be dead in a few years.

Would love to be in the draw for a copy of Dragon Force 2 though :) and great channel btw!

Most popular Mega CD games has become so expensive so I think reproductions are good alternative.

Great video! As someone who is getting back into Saturn after years away from it, this was actually something I started to research a few days ago. Thank you for the great content! And I'd love to be entered in for Dragon Force II.

Yet another great video! Sadly, reproductions are the only way to play some games, due to how difficult they are to get, not to mention that very few old games are sold digitally. I would rather enjoy the experience any way I can, rather than go broke trying to get some of those really expensive games.

Anyway, I’d LOVE to get that copy of Policenauts, if I happen to be so lucky. :)

Hi Sega Lord X, I also use Etsy for my Sega Saturn repro games. Great episode yet again. Top quality.
I'd love to have Dragon Force 2 in English. Never knew it was translated. Very gracious of you to do giveaways.

It can't be considered "theft" because you aren't depriving anyone of their property. Intellectual property is made up out of thin air because businesses wanted to find a legal way to attempt to secure future profits and limit competition. Never feel bad for downloading roms or buying repros.

I used to play the crap out of Dragon Force (I was nuts about WD in the 90's on the SCD and Saturn). I played all 8 campaigns multiple times and stayed up way too late playing that game, which led to my work habits of staying up too late in front of a screen, lol. As much as I played it, I'm sad to say (and somewhat surprised) I have never played the 2nd one.

I personally know the person behind Mega Box Reproductions. I've got a LOT of PCE and some Sega CD, PS2, and Dreamcast stuff from him.

Great video! I recently figured out the Pseudo Saturn mod and have had a blast making my own reproductions. I've even customized new disc covers and full dvd covers and inserts. I'm still experimenting so nothing for sale yet. It's more a learning experience. But it's great to have access to and explore all the Saturn games I missed out on as a kid!

Geez dude, you gave those games away? That's really awesome of you. Kudos, you just got yourself a subscriber. Only the third Channel I've ever subscribed to in the 11 years of youtubing.

Important info for us Saturn fans since such good games are so rare/expensive in English! I seriously learn something every single one of your videos.

I would think, at this point, that people who don't want to pay for originals, will just go the Optical Disk Emulator option.
