Always thought DC's Enchantress was such an interesting concept that was always underused. Really liked her small stint as the antagonist in New 52's Justice Leauge Dark. Then she just....never came back lol

I never knew there was a DC Enchantress till Cara Delevingne played that dirty, bellydancing, vocally dubbed, whatever of a villain in 2016's Suicide Squad, and I've known about Marvel's Enchantress since 2006 with Marvel's Ultimate Alliance. Yeah, there is a clear difference between the two, yet surprised no rumblings ever came up during the movie, since Marvel's Enchantress was always better known to fans, and Marvel wanted her in the MCU first (which as now, she kinda is), but DC plopped her out, and no one liked that.
Now there's another situation like this too, Marvel and DC have a Scarecrow themed supervillain, but both are MUCH different, and before I include the pantheon of Gods, Gods are as public domain as you can get, just as long as DC never makes their Thor blond with a red cape lol

I just thought enchantress was too generic of a name to copyright. It'd be like naming a superhero Hero and holding onto that like a copyright troll.

To me, it’d be like if they both had characters called “the witch.” I just see it as vague enough to work.

Guess that’s also why both DC and Marvel have a villain called the Wizard.

My guess would be that another possible reason was that "lawsuits" cost a lot of money and it was not worth it for Marvel to do anything about this minor character, as neither Enchantress had their own title or were very popular lead heroes that were generating enough money to fight over. So they should do a crossover battle/team up...:)

Personally, I prefer June. Another situation where the boyfriend was interested in both the heroine and the secret identity and had no clue.

Bottom line he said Marvel didn't care that Dc had a character named Enchantres.

That's what I figured. Enchantress is a common thing.
I don't know if it's the second one you mentioned but DC has another one called encantadora, which basically means enchantress.

Also DC transferred that green hat look to cyclone.

June Moon is a top 5 comic book name.

I've never cared much for Marvel's Enchantress but DC's always felt like it had a lot of potential that they could never quite tap. I actually like the movie version quite a bit, at least visually.
