So... you had 1 night of stupidity and your sister is so effing insecure she broke of her marriage over it? I agree with the guy, they weren't good together if they can't talk. Much less if one party is afraid of doing a good thing, or taking care of a loved one, in case the other party goes bananas. I'm not saying it's okay to go slam yourself in drugs and alcohol and not care about your safety, others' safety (because clearly neither you nor your friends cared about each others' well being, which is sad and worrying), or any consequences that may arise. But you had this one big fuck up and no one tries to understand you? Hear you out? They believe a third party's gossip over you and your BIL? Go no contact with you after... this? Yeah, you deserve a better family. I also hope your former BIL got at least partial custody. Your sister is unhealthy to others, to say the least. Again, not saying she doesn't have a reason to be upset, or whatever. But... extremes. And again, it's not your fault they separated. If you HAD slept with him, I'd get the MAJOR guilt, but otherwise, at best you had a stupid night and your BIL saved your effing life. That's all that happened.

You don’t need to be guilty. BIL used you as an excuse to leave your sister. He is the AH in this situation. Tbh it’s a blessing in disguise to go no contact with your family
