How to Fix Screen Flickering & Stuttering on Fire TV Stick (Easy Method)

Do you want to know how to fix flickering and stutter on your screen on the firestick 4k Max! To do this, go to settings, then display and try a resolution with a lower hertz so try dropping it to 50z instead of 60hz and press the up button and the rewind button and hold this down. This will get you lower hertz like 25 hz and then 24hz. Also, go to display setting and high dynamic range and go to disable HDR or adaptive! Try this is its green or flashing too!

The rewind+up button combo totally worked! We were able to switch to 1080p 24hz, which was not actually listed as an option on the screen. FIXED THE FLICKERING PROBLEM!! THANK YOU!! Our sanity is saved during screen mirroring in the conference room.

What happens if you don't have a fire stick? I have a Amazon fire TV 4K, and it's built in. But when I go to the options menu and I go to display an audio, after that there's no display section for me to pick resolution?

Thank you. I ran into a similar problem when watching Peacock on a Tivo 4k Streaming device. I reduced the 4k resolution from 60 to 50Hz and the stuttering is gone. Thumbs up!

But I have a 4k oled tv that has 120hz and it’s making me have 1080p 60hz… what’s the point of having a 4k fire stick if I can’t utilise it?

I've had the same issue with my Firestick 4K max & had no luck with changing to 50hz. However, what worked for me was turning ALM to on. Using the C1 OLED.

My new firestick 4k max just did a crazy unstoppable up and down flickering when watching a movie on Prime video, (just before the ending credits appears). It didn't happen during the movie, just at its end when firestick started suggesting next stuff to watch after the movie ends.
I fixed it going back to home menu and resetting the firestick. I ask younif
it's a common issue with firesticks??? Mine is brand new.
I got it set to hdr dissabled. My tv sony supports 12 bits color and I chose that appeared on tv display and it's a 1080p bravia tv.
