Reading my comment from last year, I forgot to mention one huge thing: while we are still here on earth, we cannot fully comprehend our FATHER GOD'S infinite love. If I have interpreted our LORD'S scriptures correctly, we will not fully comprehend all that is GOOD from our FATHER until our JESUS REDEEMER and SAVIOR returns in HIS glory to receive us unto all that our FATHER has prepared for us in HEAVEN our eternal home!

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (March 1, Lent 2), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church. I played this as the Closing Hymn. It is #337 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.

In Ephesians 3:17-19 Paul says, "...I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,  may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge...".

How does one reconcile this verse with the chorus of this song? Come with scripture or don't come at all.

I guess I'm just an old fart who likes the traditional music instead of it being turned into a pop tune. Maybe it's more acceptable to younger people to jazz it up? It just sounds wrong to me.
