Sexuality is a hot-button issue in society and the church. The changes in moral standards in recent years have stirred confusion, led to life-altering choices, and shattered families. To answer questions about sexuality, believers should respond from a biblical worldview. Your worldview is the filter through which you process life. For Christians, it should be based on the uncompromised Word of God—not popular culture.

The second installment in the Biblical Worldview curriculum series from Andrew Wommack Ministries, Biblical Worldview: Sexuality, shows you the importance of making God’s Word the first and final authority on every issue of sexuality. Andrew and other influential ministers and leaders, including William J. “Bill” Federer, Alex McFarland, Greg Mohr, Duane Sheriff, and Mike and Carrie Pickett, offer timeless biblical perspectives on today’s most challenging topics.

Biblical Worldview: Sexuality is made up of twelve video lessons across multiple topics and is designed to be used for either individual or group study. The kit contains a workbook, a USB drive, and access to an online course platform.

The twelve video lessons—available through our online course platform—cover topics including:

• The Purpose of Marriage
• The Covenant of Marriage

The workbook includes corresponding written lessons for each video lesson, and contains the following empowering features:

Let me see if I have this straight (pun intended). As a heterosexual male I am sexually attracted to women. Supposedly, my heterosexual orientation is how "god created me". This is how I am divinely "intended" to function as a sexual being. My sexual orientation wasn't a choice. I never arrived at a point where I felt compelled to choose whether I was attracted to men or women. I simply understood that I felt attracted to women. I guess I can deliberately choose to sexually relate to men, but from a practical and emotional perspective I just don't think such an arrangement is going to work all that well for me. On the contrary, the mere thought is rather traumatising.

Homosexual people (gays and lesbians) on the other hand, are sexually attracted to people of their own sex. Supposedly their homosexual orientation is not how "god created them". Supposedly this is not how they were divinely "intended" to function as sexual beings. So if this is true, then surely they must deliberately have chosen somewhere along the line to adopt a sexual orientation that was completely at odds with what the "norm" dictated.

But hang on, why would any thinking person deliberately choose to adopt a sexual orientation that will expose that person to the risk of discrimination, marginalisation, condemnation and abuse? That doesn't sound right! Why would any person willingly choose a lifestyle fraught with mental anguish, self-doubt and fear of rejection when the alternative seems so obvious, easy and natural? It's a no-brainer, really. It's because sexual orientation is not a choice. If it was as simple as a choice, my bottom dollar says that there would not have been a single homosexual person on earth. Everybody would merrily have chosen the road of least resistance!

On a fundamental level the biblical approach again proves tragically myopic. So Andrew, the lawyer in me respectfully submits that it's back to the drawing board with you and your book of fairy tales.
