IN FOCUS Discussion: COVID-19 and Pregnancy

Last month, doctors at Intermountain Healthcare say they saw 1 in 10 pregnant women test positive for COVID-19. This month, it's 1 in 5. In the spring, three symptomatic COVID-19 patients experienced miscarriages. As cases surge, health experts say they're studying every case carefully to better understand how the virus affects childbirth.

Brittany Garza, a COVID-19 patient who just gave birth to her second child joined ABC4's Rosie Nguyen on the CW30 News at 7 p.m. to share her experience. Dr. Sean Esplin, Medical Director of Obstetrics at Intermountain Healthcare also joined the discussion to talk about what he's observed with expecting mothers and infants during the pandemic.
