3D Printing Fashion: How I 3D-Printed Clothes at Home

I embarked on a year-long journey to find a way to print a 5-piece fashion collection as part of my graduate collection at Shenkar. Using soft materials and flexible patterns, I printed this collection at home.

Look guys, in stead of pointing out the obvious, (No! a shirt with holes are not keeping you warm! No! plastic is not comfy to wear) we should start to come up with ideas how to ideate and iterate on this!

Example for the holiday/business trip idea: what if.... you take a profile photo of yourself, upload your scanned measurements on the hotel platform and you will have a new wardrobe when you arrive. When you leave, they just reuse the material for new guests...?

Am I the only one who has noticed that she does not seem to understand that a jacket with holes is not ideal for winter weather. And how are you supposed to print your own clothes while travelling, is there going to be a 3D printer in every hotel from now on? This seems far from perfection to me, but good effort.

I love what you did. I just wrote an assignment on 3D printed fashion clothes. And this is exactly what I was saying, that we soon all will be able to print our clothes at home. I will definitely buy a printer myself. Do you recommend any in particular?

Looks great! However I don't see the fashion industry embracing this because of how open source this approach is. You take design and creation and put it in the hands of the consumer, which is revolutionary. However for them it doesn't turn a profit. Heres to open source fashion and an open source life!

I hope you can read this. Do you know Electroloom? They have created 3D printer that print actual fabrics. They have already printed clothes. They give the 3D printers to their backers for I guess $4000. I imagine you can make great things with these! If you already have made clothes using that printer I'm sure we would love to see what you have made!
