Born Free (1968) - ANDY WILLIAMS - Lyrics
Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart

Live free and beauty surrounds you
The world still astounds you
Each time you look at a star

Stay free, where no walls divide you
You're free as the roaring tide
So there's no need to hide

Born free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
'cause you're born free

If there could only be one version on this song it would be this one. Andy Williams' incomparable voice and exquisite musical arrangement is simply nothing short of breathtaking. This is one for now and always.

My fifth grade music teacher used to sing this with us…it’s been in my head for close to 30 years now.

Aww, such lovely lyrics to understand what this song means. And thank you to Jesus Christ Almighty God for His incredible beautiful creations! This all belongs to Him! Just remembered this song was played in a “very special movie” called: “Born Free.”

Little story: Born Free instrumental version (lyrics were censored) was emitted by first channel of Polish radio (there were 2 channels only) at 22:40 every day as opening of the "In 80 Minutes Around the World" that ended at midnight as could be easy calculated. Good night encouragement to those that new the lyrics but most people did not know the lyrics but the magic encapsulated in the music kept pouring hope in hearts of many. That was during Russian occupation 1944 -1989 and PZPR (Polish communist party) rule in 1970 - 1989.Any idea of freedom, any politically incorrect action, any uncontrolled behavior, any publishing either art or points of view were strictly censored. Someone was able to smuggle "Born Free" for several years. Thank you MR. Andy Williams.

This song just came to me. I haven't heard it in a long, long time I didn't know it's so old and don't remember the years when it used to on the radio.

The movie Born Free was one of my first as a little boy in 1972 and I remember the Adamsons of Kenya and their pride of lions in the movie. Unfortunately both were murdered in Kenya on 2 separate occasions.
