Fake gramophone playing

My fake gramophone playing. Just repaired the horn - but the rest of the machine is in a poor state too.

Everyone: its fake because the Funnel is made out of brass. Because they never used brass back the day when they made Grammophones. Sorry i'm german - i used the google translater for funnel and brass. We call funnel Trichter* and brass Messing*.

Reason being why not a lot of gramophone's were originally built with a brass horn is that brass was an extremely expensive material to use. That is what I read up on the internet about gramophone's when I went to see why. Still it was used occasionally. Lovely tune 🎶 though!

Sounds decent for a fake! Sounds like a normal gramophone but if the reproducers gaskets were somewhat or completely dried out.

Recycled cheap Swiss case player with the tone arm turned up so the horn can be attached. Housing and horn are modern, everything else is original. Sound isn't too great from repurposing and tracking is 50/50. It'll be fine for a casual collector, just mind and be strict with changing needles, weight on the needle will rough.

All you need to look at to tell it's a replica is the supporting arm of the horn, if it's rounded and nickel plated, it's probably real. If it's square, chrome-plated, and machined looking, it's guaranteed a replica. A Brass horn doesn't necessarily mean a fake, but the later the model is supposed to be, the more unlikely it is to be legit. Build quality is also important! If it ( the wood ) is treated with Oil instead of varnish, it is much more likely to be real, and much more valuable!
