Jim was great. Yeah, Jim had issues. Who of you doesn't? You be the first to cast a stone.
He was beautifully handsome, quite intelligent, and deeply sensitive and spiritual.
Back then a lot of folks didn't understand that. But there are a whole lot more of us now who do.
On a slightly shallower note....Jim rocked the leather look better than the '80s hair bands, if you ask me.
I was 4 or 5 when "Light My Fire" was on the radio. My introduction to rock. Pink Floyd followed on its heels.
I had a deep crush on Morrison for years of my youth, not just his looks but his creative soul as well.
The Doors as a band inspired me to read literary classics, and to believe in myself as a writer and an artist (the world continued to beat that out of me for decades, but I'm back. )

Good ol' Mr. Mojo still missed, after all this time. But the world is indeed better for having had those brief years with you in it.
