My Little Pony might've been a kids show but man did people like to do some spooky stuff with it. That's what me and @Raymundo_2112 talk about in this years Halloween special.

I usually read pony horror stories every year for Halloween. It hits harder when the terrible things in the story are happening to characters your care about and in settings you're already familiar with.
Where as other horror stories have to buy you into their characters and setting, why you should care about joe schmoe

I've always found it weird how Pinkamena is canonically just Pinkie's first name, and a representation of her when she's feeling sad, but the fandom just decided that she was an evil alter ego

I'm surprised that I haven't seen anyone mention Butterflies, I think that's a really good one. Love stories where the villain just genuinely thinks they're doing the right thing, and I think that fic does it pretty well. Apple Sleep Experiment is pretty good too.

Cupcakes was actually written before “Party Of One” aired, so Pinkie was her normal self in the story, not Pinkamena

"Pinkamena" isn't a name made by the fandom. Pinkie's name is canonically "Pinkamena Diane Pie", with Pinkie just being her nickname.

-The creator of Luna Game back real recently, and even made new versions of the old game after revealing themselves!
-the author of Why I Stopped Watching My Little Pony still writes in that universe today, and theyve gotten steadily better as theyve gone. I even wrote one that they deemed canon, and helped edit their most recent one, which is going up on fimfiction this halloween!
-the author of Rainbow Factory... yeah, you know the drill by now, they came out as gay, got a boyfriend who helped them write a few sequels, its all compiled in a published book you can buy, youve heard it before
-Theres a hidden mode in Story of the Blanks where you can build your own level. Thats it, just thought it was cool.

context for sweet apple massacre: it's a grossout fic of Big Mac abusing applebloom and other school age ponies in That Kind of way, it gets pretty damn violent and that's why the video author is giving it a hard pass. Just putting it out there so nobody goes 'owo wats thi-' and looks it up on their own.

Allegedly someone wrote it to... get back at someone for camping them in an xbox game? I don't know anymore, the spite would explain it being as shallow surface-level shock as it is.

I read Sweet Apple Massacre when I was 12, years later I can still say it's the most awful fanfiction I've read. Even if you're a fan of gore or noncon (why) it's just layers upon layers of utter trash. Also especially stay away from it if you're young, I remember I read it because some YouTuber I watched said it was "tHe dArKesT mLp fAnFiC" and I wanted to prove how "mature" I was to myself. Warnings are there for a reason.

Cupcakes didn't scare me, but it did upset me after, since it pretty much made the fandom consistently associate Pinkie's whole character as a psychopathic murderer instead of the Pink ball of fun with a hint of crazy.

Eventually it died out for the most part, but it's still a tough thing to swallow.

god i remember a creepypasta that was literally just about the guy taking some online mlp test and saying how much he wants to see twilight sparkle in knee high socks and then he dies or something. weird.

If you want a good grimdark, I’d strongly recommend “The Friendship Test”. It’s in short about Starlight testing the Mane 6’s friendship in deadly ways. The voice acting is incredible and the story will make you shift uncomfortably. 10/10 would have nightmares again.

Cupcakes never sat right with me, because I just kept thinking "Those cupcakes would taste so bad."
Flesh and blood just don't mix well with sugar and icing if you ask me.
Rainbow Factory at least makes some sense, as one could probably find a way to extract color particles from anything and use it to make a rainbow, especially when a rainbow isn't naturally created by light being broken up into all the colors one can percieve.

The part of Cupcakes isn't the story itself but the fact that it was posted before Party of One aired. The collective shock when Pinkie loses her grip on reality and Rainbow Dash of all ponies is sent to retrieve her for the Surprise party. I remember audibly gasping and laughing like "No Dashie don't go in there! Shes gonna turn you into Cupcakes!"

I remember being really into all these darker mlp stories. So when my younger sister one day came home with one of those mlp magazines full of puzzles and such, I was surprised to find a page dedicated to "making rainbow cupcakes with pinkiepie." The people that made those magazines were either really in touch with the bronies, or not at all.

Does anyone else remember Twilight's Dollhouse or is it just something only I was traumatized by? It was a story where Twilight got super paranoid that her friends would leave her and she would have no one left, so she lured a bunch of them to her house one by one to drug them and turn them to dolls and it got really dark. Like I think she got upset at Bonbon at one point and pulled out all of her teeth.

- my personal favorite (most disturbing) is the pic of Pinkie (Pinkamena) crawling out of a TV. Shit was creepy af, and I can’t look at the pic w/ a straight face to this day
