My favorite detail is the giant tusks simulating the mask's growth to absurd proportions. Unfortunately, that illusion is broken by those black elbow pieces. Ah well, close enough. Also between trans reddish orange unifying 2015's baddies and trans yellowish green unifying Umarak and the beasts, I speculate trans purple would've been the signature of 2017's antagonists, had G2 made it that far.

My first Titan and my last bionicle set, I love him so much that I still haven't taken him apart even once since the day I built him!

Umarak's transformation scene in JTO was the best part of G2. Makuta's dialogue there was excellent.

I LOVE this one. His left horn broke on my copy but he still stands proud on the shelf. Loved the build.

After G2 is finished i think you should take a look at the bionicle playsets as they are so abstract compared to the buildable figures and that they are meant to fulfill a different purpose

Once again, killing it with the mood lighting! 😎 This was probably my favorite version of Umarak; however, I'm definitely biased to the green coloring! Don't have this one in my collection yet, but he's certainly going to be added at some point 🙌🏻

Would love to see him in a face-off with the CCBS Grievous!

Ekimu and Umarak the destroyer were the last bionicle sets I bought before g2 got cancelled

I always loved this set, as a kid it reminded me a lot of the Omega Pirate boss from Metroid Prime. There's the same corrupted feel, an enemy you recognize being surrounded by a deadly power and becoming a shadow of their former self, utterly mindless. I think the fact that he could easily pick up and throw any one of the Toas really contributes to that feel.

I'm very fortunate to own both Umaraks. The Hunter is my favourite, but as a pair they are amongst the best EVER bionicle sets. The clear transformation is amazing!

I actually like Umarak's hunter form more than his destroyer form, but I gotta say that this is a really great build and the size is impressive for the piece count! He really towers over the G2 toa!

Umarak’s second form is pretty great, my only complaint is that his lower jaw is totally out of proportion with the mask’s upper jaw, so the head doesn’t look organic like the rest of the set. Otherwise, though, I love the color scheme and imposing aura of the figure!

They should have made Umarak wear the mask of control, it would make it look more appealing. Although Umarak the destroyer looks cool, I would prefer him in his Hunter form.

Another great review Christian! Tbh I wasn’t a fan at all of Bionicle generation 2. I understand CCBS has its many strengths (quite literally as it breaks less often), but I prefer the aesthetics and build of technic of generation 1 bionicle. I can certainly see why the G2 sets sold so poorly. Anyway keep up the great reviews and I can’t wait to see some system set reviews!

I fully expect to be in the minority here, but this is the one set I'm totally fine with having no neck articulation. The horns and lift arms make his head look so overgrown with muscle that he probably couldn't turn his head if he tried, but he can probably pierce body armor with his horns. He went from monster hunter to beast.
