An interview with @TorontoPolice Chief Mark Saunders

Chief Mark Saunders says that creating a safe city is based on a partnership with the public.

“The key to policing from day one to present day has always been treating people with dignity and respect. I’ve always found that if you are treating people nicely, not because you have to but because you want to and you’re not looking for any type of reward, there’s always some positive feedback from that,” said Chief Mark Saunders, in a brief interview before being officially sworn-in as the tenth man to lead the Toronto Police Service.
“It all starts from how that person feels after they’ve walked away from you after that first encounter.”

Chief Mark Saunders welcomed the opportunity to lead the Service where he has found many mentors over the years.

“The Toronto Police Service represents excellence in policing and being a member for 32 years, and having worked with some of the finest police officers that I’ve been exposed to, has helped put me in the seat I’m in today and I’m really looking forward to what the future brings for Toronto Police.”

The drivers license was issued first to ex- slaves in the United States through the excise tax, as a way to limit revenue loss by keeping the ex slave from travelling out of the state. It is also designed  to stagnate a people.  It also serves as an instrument to extract revenue in the form of fines keeping the community poor. If the slave laws and practice have been abolished, why is this “carding”still taking place?
