Easiest FLOUNDER Fishing Rig

This is by far the easiest flounder fishing rig for live bait. A perfect sized finger mullet on a jig head. Super simple and super effective. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Carolina rig, or drop rig so that the mullet can swim above the floor. I'd do that with a dead mullet. I just hook'em and jig'em like I do with soft plastics.

Up here in Oregon we're not allowed to fish with live bait. At least fish as live bait. Anyway it's cool that you can catch them

I have fished in Texas, and Florida and have used finger mullet in both places. The finger mullet are cigar shaped with a round head not a pointy head. I'm not sure what that is but it sure doesn't look like a finger mullet to me

If you only run the hook through the lower lip of the mullet will allow the mullet to breathe and live longer on the hook.

Only can fish them 1 week out of the year in NC, and good luck finding them that week

Oh yes. My favorite fish. No fight, but great eating. Breaded, lemon, and some tartar sauce, and you're set.

Peas, corn or worms work in nz but we usually just set nets

The best bait and size of bait is the bait you catch near the area you are goingto be fishing. Wether its mullet, glass minnows, menhaden, small piggy perch or my personal favorite - shad

I threw a net trying to catch mullet and caught that EXACT jighead, hopefully Ill catch the second piece to the puzzle next time lol

Is that mullet? It looks like a shad. Maybe it's the angle that I can't see it that well. Gulps also are good.

Live bait is the best to catch fish with but I can’t find any place in New York that sells live bait without having to travel a state away from home
