Are you ready for a relaxing hot towel shave and face massage?

We are back with a 2nd video with @yamaguchi_barber aka The Night Barber! 🎉 Thanks to all of you who suggested we visit; it was a wonderful experience 🙏🏼

Did you already watch the haircut, hair wash, and head & shoulder massage video? If you missed it, you can watch it here👇🏼

Yamaguchi Barber Shop, if you didn't already know, is a 4th generation-traditional Japanese barbershop tucked away in the coastal town of Hayama 🌊 Easily reachable by train from Tokyo, it's a popular weekend destination known for its beaches, yachting, windsurfing, and now its Showa-era barbershop!

Yamaguchi Barber Shop originally opened in 1920, but for the last 20 years has been in its current location. Modeled in the Showa era (circa the 1920s - 1980s); natural stained wood, timeless vintage accessories such as the clock and desk calendar, and a vinyl collection that many music buffs would be so jealous of! 🕰️

Slip off your shoes when entering, the interior beckons with a feeling reminiscent of a traditional Japanese public bath house.

At the heart of this intimate barbershop is a desire to provide the best possible hospitality to customers using handed-down family traditions 💈❤️

We were met by 77-year-old Masao Yamaguchi, a 3rd generation barber who works alongside his 4th generation barber son, Taro Yamaguchi. Masao-san has been barbering since he was 17 years old and studied in Yokohama! He likes motorcycles, fishing, and jazz music. Masao-san particularly enjoys listening to Bob James & Stevie Wonder 🎶

Masao-san says he enjoys all aspects of barbering including haircuts and shampooing. You may have seen Masao-san's work on the Yamaguchi Barber YouTube Channel. Masao-san says he loves watching his videos on YouTube!! He is happy when he sees lots of views and interesting comments❣️😊

We also filmed with Taro-san for the Yamaguchi Barber YouTube Channel 🙌🏼

✨ Masao's life advice is to simply, "Follow through with what you want to do!”

I just love the sound of the cooling down a hot towel, I think it’s the most relaxing sound ever.

Keyboard, extensive music collection, bottle of Jameson peeking out from the background...this guy knows how to live between appointments!

This gentleman’s efficiency of movement is pretty astounding—what a pro—not a single motion is wasted. You get the feeling he could do it blindfolded.

I’ve never seen an automatic chair before. I notice the Master has his customer laying back quite far, which creates an excellent angle for the shave. Wonderful attention to details.

That's gotta be a Feather Razor. I've seen very few razor holders that allow for such effortless efficiency and confidence like Feather injectable razor holders. They seem to be justified in their high price tag! Great stuff! Thanks, Harry!

I have so many questions but the main two are; 1- what’s up with all the cd’s and vinyl? 2- what’s up with the liquor bottles hogging behind the barber supplies?

I actually like that he doesn't smack the foam brush around in the dish when he's using it, most barbers do and it annoys me most of the time.
