*Okay, so technically it's not EXACTLY my dream guitar, but it's close enough!

For years, I've lusted after the Gibson DG-335 signature model guitar. Unfortunately, the collectors market for this limited run has priced them out of my reach. I recently came across this unique guitar and managed to snag it.

This is a 2021 Gibson Custom Shop Trini Lopez reissue with some unique specs that make it appear very similar to the Dave Grohl signature model. In this video we'll talk about all its parts and specs, review the similarities and differences to other models, and even compare with my "Chibson" Dave Grohl guitar.

Crazy enough, a buddy of mine was looking for a Pelham Blue Trini and I helped him find a deal about a month ago. Glad you found one, and really, the Trini is closer to what Dave plays anyway

I commented on your post when you posted on reddit about getting this guitar. That shop's not far from me and if I had known I would have sprinted down there to get it. Makes it even worse knowing it has the thinner neck profile as my only complaint about the Epiphone is the thick neck. Beautiful guitar. Enjoy it. Love it. Congratulations!

The color is a striking difference, and the binding in the sound holes adds so much. Im glad you found an epic guitar. I like a chunky neck and acoustically the chibson held a win to me. I just got a pearl Epiphone Wildkat as i was magnetically drawn to it through three sessions over a month in the guitar store. That feeling of finding a right one is so great. It was a feel thing... And looks, and sounds. Hands on though i got to sense its mojo. I wouldnt part with it for 10x what I paid.

I bought the Epiphone DG335 a couple of months ago... The first time I opened the case I was so excited; I'm really happy with it. I can imagine how happy you are! Congratulations!!! Enjoy it!!

I have BB1 and BB2 humbuckers from my 50s. You can tell by the way that I wrote that that I already took them out and put something else in. The Custombuckers in yours are much better and less muddy.

Also really cool to see you talking about Music City Canada. They are located here in town; I've bought a lot of things there, including my beloved Orange OR30 amp. They're really good to work with.

Once you play Custombuckers, your ears get spoiled. I always liked my Burstbuckers but after I got my first Les Paul and 355 with Custombuckers, I have seen the light. That is a beautiful guitar you got there. You deserve it. Thanks for sharing

What a great guitar, congratulations! I am a lucky owner of an original DG335 (2007 first run) and I wish mine had this biding at the Diamond holes, looks super cool! I think you made the right choice with that one, original is a very similar instrument if not for the pickups and neck. And it’s your very own guitar, not an artist signature. The color seems a bit different on mine but this guitar never has the same color depending on illumination. I really feel you when you mentioned the issue with the post office, I once got a 1965 Fender Jazzmaster sent back from France to the states just because it sat for too long at the post office (delivery guy didn’t bother leaving a delivery notice). I need to watch your comparison with all the DG model, I will probably learn a lot about my own guitar! Cheers!

Congratulations Dude! I live in Brazil and here any Gibson is expensive :( I'm very happy for you man! In my case, for a while I'm still playing with my DG-335 CHIB haha Obviously that have differences but still sounds good and brings the feel of DG on stage for people! Let's Rock!
