The NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope is showing off its capabilities closer to home with its first image of Neptune. Not only has Webb captured the clearest view of this peculiar planet’s rings in more than 30 years, but its cameras are also revealing the ice giant in a whole new light.

Someone please explain how JWST can take such details deep-field pictures but the images of our planets in our solar system look so blurry and small? After the initial image release which included the most distant galaxies we've ever seen I was expecting ultra HD images of our own planets as if we sent probes to each one.

I thought resolution would be better. I mean this is not an armature telescope, it is Webb.

they should have posted a close up image of this planet like jupiter. when we used to see a sharp photos of the celelstial bodies, this one is quite frustrating to look.
