When starting new venture it's key to be clear about the business model. In simple words, how are you going to get rewarded by your clients for the value you give them with your product. This is going to impact all your decisions from feature development to sales strategy and marketing.
B2B or business-to-business is selling your products or services to other businesses. Ex: Mailchimp (marketing automation) or Salesforce (customer relationship management software). B2C or business-to-consumer is selling your goods or services directly to consumers. Ex: Facebook, Airbnb or Netflix.
B2B businesses typically sell at lower volumes but higher values. Sales take longer to develop, but relationships last longer. B2C businesses attract higher volumes but way lower values.
At its core B2B and B2C are very different so you will have to decide what you feel more comfortable with as a founder.
