Does A Singer Like You Have To Practice? Gabbi Gun (Gabriela Gunčíková) - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

So many people think that great singers just open their mouths and out comes awesomeness.

Even Pavarotti studied all the way to the end of his life.

One of my prized students, Gabriela Guncikova, will share with you her ethic on practice and why it is important.

I wanted you to hear this straight from the horse's mouth and her exact conviction on practicing and how she got great at singing.

A month ago I sang for the first time in public. There were two surprises. Me. That I got some really good comments on my songs and performing. And two. The public, some knows me for years, that we're surprised by my performance and singing. But, one person told me to get a vocal coach. Learn to use my voice for singing. Well. That's probably the next step. The use of my voice, the right way, without damaging it.

Fantastic the interviews, Gabbi is phenomenal! Well, of course Ken is too (hehe)! Perhaps the question/answers for the interviews should also be performed not in a talking manner but instead SINGING the Q&As! 🙂 How about that Ken!

Gabby's English has improved so much to have virtually no accent anymore (which for English vowels is a lot). As always, her vocals are phenomenal and hopefully she can get more recognized in the music world with her own original compositions.

So I write how I feel about my own practice sessions. Just read this comment and take what ever you can apply to your own.

I personaly don't just practice singing. I also practice beatboxing and dancing I know how frustrating it is when you got it down and then you catch a cold. Especially when the technique is in a very precise area between to other techniques. And I know that we tend to get lazy if we got used to what we are doing. I personally just tend to listen to my covers only at a certain point which leads to more and more mistakes.

You know for dancing there is one rule. Take your time to listen. Because musicans don't follow rules like four on the floor that strictly. They make up their own concepts. The hardest part is not to dance fast but to hit THAT sound that comes randomly after hours of nothing.

And for beatboxing?

Well for me it's the fact that my emotions take controll over my instrument. Cuting parts because I'm hyped up about the crazy parts. (Which by the way makes the crazy parts sound like they have nothing to do with the song.) And all those crazy things on piano or on guitar it's ok. But with beatboxing I basically play multiple instruments at once in less than a second which leads emotional response to sound like chaos.

So what does it mean. ALLWAYS GO BACK TO THE BASICS. I also hate this part because I can do this and that and what so ever.

My favorite part on the other hand is recording what I've done. There is no better way to check yourself
