I would just like to say thank you to the kind gentleman that read this aloud. It was very timely, and he is well - spoken. I greatly appreciate this video :)

Though your voice is not changing at all. I've got to say thanks for uploading this. The Metamorphosis has always intrigued me. Did Kafka want to show his childhood? Did he know he had TB even before being diagnosed and wrote down his thoughts? Did he invent this story completely by scratch? DID Gregor really (SPOILER) die at the end or did he metamorphosed once again? Even with all those questions, this book always gives me a melancholic mood.

I think it fits the nature of kafka's writing quite well.

@KARIBIKunderwater Fair point. However I was intending on using this opening with my class, who I always talk to about using expression when reading, so I had to mute the sound and read it myself!

@SeaEagleAdmin Don't you understand that it is an allegorical tale? It is used to teach students about imagery, symbolism and allegory. Do you feel proud when you don't understand things? I'm genuinely fascinated.

=)) never thought at that ...
but you'll score more love from them if you will put in their hands a good book and send them in the garden, on a bench, under an old tree ... it is much much better than reading with the headphones watching a PCScreen :X :X :X

the grotesc thing in this book is, that the family changes more than gregor.
