ChatGPT Code Interpreter - Complete Tutorial including Prompt List

ChatGPT finally released Code interpreter to all ChatGPT plus users. So if you have a subscription to ChatGPT, you can now activate this option.

Code interpreter can do analyze ton of different types of files. It can read and analyze large text files, datasets, at can resize and crop images, it can analyze and rewrite python code, it can convert files to different formats and it can analyze your own data too.

To activate it, click the three dots and go to settings. And activate code interpreter.
If you don’t see it, make sure you have the paid subscription to ChatGPT. If you still don’t see it, wait a few more days until it gets released to all paid members.

Once activated, start a new chat, select GPT 4 and then code interpreter.

You can use different datasets and upload to ChatGPT.

Inside of ChatGPT, you can press the plus sign and upload any document.

Then, give it a prompt in order to interact with the document. So you can start by asking what the data set is? Explain this data sets in one paragraph.

Then, what’s the main takeaway from this data set?

You can also give chatGPT an image and have it make adjustments.

The most impressive part might be that you can feed it your own dataset and ask follow up questions.

I'm a bit disappointed, that you didn't underline, how the Code Interpreted repeatedly mentioned that it used only parts of the documents due the token constraints, so it largely had to guess the content of the long document and, well interpret from there.

You haven't added that it can OCR written images. I've only got good results using images with typed text (not handwritten). 'Perform OCR' does the trick

Just have a few questions, are you still be able to ask GPT to plot the graph and show the virtualisation? it seems like I cannot do that with the same prompt as you mentioned in this VDO and also it said, I cannot show the graph or run the code in this environment.

Which GPT-4 and ChatGPT Plus, is it possible to give it a GitHub repository and ask it to rewrite the code found there in another language? Im thinking for code bases im very familiar with (e.g. that i work on) it could help me learn a new language by having the logic rewritten.

Thank you! Question: how to you get Code Interpreter to render individual charts? My data is creating up to 10-12 charts and Code Interpreter is creating these as 1 whole image of 10-12 charts, meaning the charts are too small to see or read. I've tried to add "and separate each chart", which isn't helping. Again, Thank you.

I have tried it. It has potential but for someone with minimal excel and/or programming skills, this still brings nothing to the table. I am way slower if I actively try to use the new feature. Also, people fail to realize still that the server allocates a very small amount of resources per chat in GPT, yes Premium included, so for anything like reading or interpreting a simple PDF its complete chaos for example.
