EVER WANTED TO WEIGH A FART? Well, it isn't easy, but Gabe from PBS Space Time walks us through the math, physics, and science behind farts and explains how to measure them!

A shart is just a fart with a little dark matter.

7 people that disliked this (or spoke out about it) are why nerds get stereotyped as being unable to be funny. As the Joker would say "Why so serious?". Lifes to short. Enjoy it. And if you don't like a video then don't watch it. I think this video is great.

I very seriously don't understand the backlash going on here. This particular video is just an aside from the real video which came out two days ago. And to those of you complaining about the fictional world stuff, that content only accounts for 3 out of the 9 main videos currently on the channel. There's no reason to be such a downer for the nerds among us who find this stuff ridiculously fun.

You know, I gotta hand it to Gabe for not making the "intrepid ass-tronaut" joke here. Also, this episode was hilarious.

Some say this video stinks, not me though, I think it's a real gas.

How can light exert pressure on spacecraft, (e.g via solar sails) if light is made up of photons, which are massless particles?

No farts were weighed during the making of this video. Calculated, perhaps...

I've always wanted to know that.
Thanx.  :))

That was calculating a fart. To actually weight it, fart underwater and measure buoyancy.

Really random question (...that is probably completely wrong because of my bare minimum understanding of physics), but could you measure an agreeable 'negative' weight of a shadow by taking the amount of light being blocked (thus making the shadow) and determine the weight of that energy/mass? Basically, what I am asking is...

Cold is not a thing, you can not add cold, you can only subtract heat to the point there is no heat left to extract.

A shadow in this sense, is also just an absence of light, but it is something measurable, you can determine it's volume and the amount of light that is being blocked (density?), so unlike cold does that make shadow a "thing." (In the eyes of physicist and what not)

This question is starting to sound dumb even to me, but I still want to ask.

A=mass/weight of person before fart
B=mass/weight of person after fart
C=mass/weight of fart
A-B=C

Not possible to compare a "typical" fart to a baked bean fart. The baked bean fart is much more heavier and dense. That is how they are able to "linger" for greater periods of time.

Lol, I thought he was gonna use kinematics to calculate its mass.
