I contacted Mr. Holders office years back about this very issue( voting rights). Will always be grateful for the reception I got from them.

Clay Aiken for Congress, a young, energetic, intelligent Raleigh Democrat to represent the citizens of the 4th District of North Carolina, and the USA!

Ive been a fan since Mr.. Holder got the nod from the GOAT.. When I first learned our former Atorney General was leading the fight against gerrymandering, it was a huge relief. I hadn't heard anything in recent news regarding gerrymandering so I was somewhat concerned. In addition, I had lost a bit of confidence in Erik Holder after his comment regarding the unlikelihood that the DOJ would not seek to indict a former President for fear of a political backlash (paraphrasing). This position seemed to contradict "no man is above the law" creed. However, he has since then changed his position calling for accountability. Furthermore, he has scaved off the Republicans assault on gerrymandering denying absolute power for the next decade. Thank you General, for restoring a crucial component of our democracy and restoring my confidence in you and your legacy- ten fold. Godspeed!

From a European perspective I would respectfully make the following observations:

The January 6th Committee will present all the evidence, the facts as they have gathered from multiple sources over the last months.
The US legal system has procedures for administering penalties to people who break the law.
No one individual or company in America is above the law.
Legally enforceable prosecutions should take place irrespective of the persons stature or standing or position in the Political system or Government, in public, in full view of the World.

Failure of the US legal system to administer penalties to anyone involved will be viewed as a weakness of the US
Justice system.

Those in the World who seek to harm America and Americans will begin a campaign again America that the Country cannot defend itself against: Cyber attacks...another 9/11..hostage taking...If Trump and his cronies are not held accountable there will be grave consequences for Democracy in America and elsewhere in the Free World. Trump and his cronies are not Politicians, not World Class Statesmen...Trump and his cronies are thugs and hoodlums.

It’s nice to know that some judges have integrity even though they were appointed by the person whose case they are deciding.

You want to know what true democracy looks like, look at countries in Western Europe. In some countries, you, by law have to vote, mostly on Sundays. You receive your voting pass automatically once you turn 18. For me the nearest voting station is 10 minutes walk and it’s open from 8 in the morning till 8 in the evening. Count is simple, the total nr of votes is counted, divided over the nr of seats in parliament and that outcome is the nr of votes that is needed to get one seat in parliament. Simple as can be and it works, never discussions.

I am an old white woman, and my heart breaks for the families of all of those that were murdered by that willful child yesterday in Buffalo. I want to know what kind of people his parents are? Are they the ones who filled his heart so full of useless hate that he was willing to throw away his entire life just to pursue that one violent act? If those guns belonged to the parents, why weren't they locked up in a gun safe? At 18 years old, this child is too young to really be aware of the weekly flow of working families shopping for food at the end of the work week. That would have automatically meant that he was targeting family members. Just what values did his parents actually teach him? If he couldn't get it in a church, the community needed to get it to him through the schools.

I really wish Holder was our Attorney General, not Garland.

Excellent interview, the only way to implement these objectives is for the 2022 and 2024 elections need to be overwhelmingly won by moderates, Democrats and Republicans. Democracy is the strongest when the middle of the road moderates in both parties hold offices!

Who is being denied their right to vote?

USA, Russia, Belarus and China allow the ruling party to run elections. Democracies have independent bodies run elections, set district boundaries, enrol voters and count votes.

Those politicians deflecting that the guy wasn’t from their city is such a complete and utter ruse. Those people were deflecting because they wanted to project that they were doing a good job on crime in their city. Crime doesn’t know borders. What morons. MAKE THE ASSULT RIFLES ILLEGAL AND IF YOU ARE CAUGHT WITH ONE YOU GO TO PRISON FOR LIFE. NO IF’S AND’S or BUTTS

Redistricting is very easy to solve, but it does require both political parties to give up the power to gerrymander. Let us not kid ourselves that gerrymandering is solely a GOP vice.

If you want to stop gerrymandering then a state needs to set up an independent body to draw the maps which has only 3 rules: (1) all districts to have as close as possible, the same number of votes, (2) district boundaries should follow clear geographical or historical boundaries (3) the body may not take into account or even receive any data or information that might indicate likely voting patterns for people - that is data such as ethnicity, socio-economic status, previous voting history etc.
