Hollywood needs to learn from "Twisters" and "Inside Out 2" -- crowd-pleasing, non-political movies are making bank this summer. It's really NOT that hard to get people back into the theater, but Hollywood keeps insisting it knows better than the audience.

Hollywood box office success is driven by apolitical, entertaining movies with recognizable characters, and animation is making a comeback, with a focus on creating new, engaging ideas.

2nd Tuesday each month my local theater runs a classic on the big screen. Every time 2 things happen that never happen with newer movies. 1 The theater is packed. 2 a round of applause when the movie finishes. People still want to go to the theater. Hollywood just needs to give them a reason to.

Just watched Twisters tonight and it was a great movie. It's also much more accurate to IRL storm chasing than the first Twister movie, so if you care about accuracy, it is pretty accurate

I just saw Twisters tonight. It was fun! As an avid fan of tornado YouTubers like Pecos Hank and Swegle Studios it was a real treat! Nothing stupid, the characters were fun and hey it was a diverse cast and it wasn't preachy. Imagine that. No propaganda, no politics.

Oddly enough, The Day After tomorrow is climate change propaganda, but it was entertaining propaganda. Audiences will sit in front of propaganda if it's well made. The people in charge however seemed to have lost the plot.
